Dumb title but here's the drug related part:
"Sheinbaum on Tuesday took issue with the idea that Mexico can simply stop drug traffic, while pointing out America's role in it. "Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours," she said, claiming that Mexico has "seized tons of various types of drugs, 10,340 firearms, and have detained 15,640 individuals for violence related to drug trafficking."

Wait, let me get this straight. The US is primarily responsible for violence in Mexico as the supply (but not demand) for guns, and the US is also primarily responsible for drugs as the demand (but not supply) for drugs.
No wonder she's economically incompetent: she can't keep demand- and supply-side arguments consistent for even a paragraph. !neolibs

We should do NAFTA 2, where we trade guns for drugs and we both win

Kill all junkies, every single last one of them and destroy the demand.
It won't destroy the cartels though, now they dedicate to extortion, kidnapping and controlling goods inside entire communities/states in Mexico. It's becoming more profitable than the drug trade.
