This is a bad take. A very bad take. Your historical illiteracy makes me shudder. I wouldn't flaunt your ignorance by saying that anyone other than America invented the Internet.
Seriously, the roots of it are in a plan in the early 1960s (back when systems engineering chads were in power) for how America should have a strategy for the whole computer thing. And ideas back then for how to have a resilient network that could survive a nuclear war. There's hundreds of advances in hardware and software that are as important as Tim Berners-Lee and his WWW. He just was at the right place at the right time. That was literally something my dad could have done and he could have done it better. I mean frick, I could do it myself if you gave me a little time. This did not require any great skill or insight. There are many legit geniuses involved in inventing the internet, people who came up with ideas the rest of us never could, but he was not one of them.
Actually, they did rely a lot on their predecessors' aeronautical research. And they never could have made a plane without the recently-invented internal combustion engine...
Well if you really aren't trolling me and need me to disprove your point: The internet began with the ARPAnet program begun by the US DoD in 1966. Tim Berners-Lee created the HTTP protocol and dumbed down SGML into HTML about 30 years later. This was the beginning of the WWW.
yes so he created the internet. ARPA net is not the internet. It's like calling a LAN network the internet. ARPAnet is considered the forerunner of the internet.

Educate yourself sweaty.
So he did invent the internet by being at the right place at the right time.
Nuh uh Einstein didn't discover general relativity, my dad could have done it better.
This is peak Elon Musk doesn't matter because the 1000 engineers make everything.

Modems getting faster and cheaper in the 1980s-1990s did 1000 times more for the internet than he did.

Wright brothers did not invent the airplane because other people made them 1,000 times better down the line.

Everything you said adds additional context without disproving my point.

The problem is you are making a very obvious point and not giving us a chance to feel smart by arguing with you.
