How has anyone EVER been able to lose weight?!

It's so hard, the margins for staying in a deficit are so tiny and it takes such a ridiculously long time! I really can't grasp how everyone on earth with access to food isn't morbidly obese, and it's even more inconceivable to me how anyone who's overweight was able to lose the weight?

I've been stuck between 180 lbs and 220 lbs for the last 5 years, endlessly looking for the answer. It takes all my willpower to go a single day making sure I eat right, I've never been able to go more than a week.

The only way I've been able to lose weight is through very restrictive diets, but after a couple months I relapse and gain it all back. I've tried to make slow and steady approaches but just end up the same. It's so exhausting to count calories and constantly power through cravings.

Is there a cheat code? I've tried therapy, didn't help. Quit drinking alcohol, just made my cravings for food worse. I've tried prayer and meditation, hasn't worked either.

How did you do it?!

This fat c*nt has tried everything to lose weight but it's just impossible.

Therapy: didn't lose weight.

Prayer? Still fat.

Meditation? Post-meditation recovery snacks spike blood sugar and increase food cravings.

What is the answer? How can anyone ever lose weight? Is there some sort of magic cheat code this lump isn't aware of?

I've shed probably two hundred pounds during my life by now (bulking/cutting) and I've pretty much never counted calories.

You eat. You weigh yourself. Losing too slow? Eat less. Lost too fast? Eat more. Repeat.

There's no magic.

Counting is ez but for some reason people think everyone needs the same calories. Women hear 2000 and think it's the defacto number. It's actually like 1200 if you don't exercise for foids. People just don't do research.

The trick is just to not have so much food at all times. Or at least not so much perishable food. There's a theory I read once that people consume food relative to how much is lying around. Like if you have arbitrary numbers and all but example being you have 20 lbs a food and lets say you can last a few weeks. Now lets say you have a 100. In both scenarios in one they eat like 10 to save food but in the other they eat 20 because there's 80 left over why not. Just stop fridgemaxxing your food supply. Also just stop buying sweets all together. Make dessert a tasty fruit.

I have noticed that r-slurs buy food that's only loosely connected to what they eat. Like they'll buy a lot, not eat a significant portion and then just throw it away, over and over again.

Once I moved out and started really working out I realized just how much shit people buy at the supermarket that they don't need, mostly out of habit. I'm convinced if everybody became a gymrat with the specific goal of bulking up we would still reduce food waste by like 50%.

TBH I'd be a lard bucket if I lived in a big city. 100% of my exercise comes from activities like hiking, mountain biking, surfing, snowshoeing, kayaking, and rock climbing. If all I had to look forward to was going to a gym like a hamster on a treadmill, I'd find it hard to work up the motivation to leave the house.

At the start of COVID, I started a diet plan that my great uncle wrote in the early 70s -

  • Strict keto (although they didn't call it that back then) for the first 45 days, and literally nothing but specific measures of protein and tons of water for the first 2 weeks

  • Regimented eating schedule (now called Intermittent Fasting) thereafter until target weight is reached

I went from 205lbs to 177lbs from March 19 to July 3 that year.

Fats will fat, and they'll only stop when the want to stop fatting.

Walking at least 10k steps a day would do wonders for most people. You could probably eat some junk and still lose some weight over a period of months.

I saw this one particular young couple that stood out from the rest only because the girl looked absolutely perfect. She was tall, blonde, and sexy. She would have towered over me in height, and her boyfriend of course towered over her. They were both wearing beach gear, and the girl was in her bikini, showing off to everyone her sensual, erection-causing body. Her blonde hair was wet from swimming in the ocean, and it only made her look more arousing. The two of them were holding hands, and it was clear that they were in love. I agree. The trick is to teach yourself to get used to the feeling of being hungry. Once you normalize that feeling without picking up food it becomes easy. Think of it as a little constant pain that will one day be gone when you hit normal weight. You just have to voluntarily suffer the discomfort.

It's one of those get used to push through discomfort situations and honestly I can understand why 80-90% of fats cannot do it. Their families fricked them over as kids in most cases and people get stuck at whatever diet they are used to.

Far as I can tell, even mildly overweight people have a hard time sticking to normal weight afterwards in life even though their journey is way shorter.

Taking all of this into account I still think one should keep pushing to not be fat. Do it in chunks. Go down 2-3 kilos at a time. Maintain weight. Then cut again. Repeat.
