I knew a guy who was into ultra light backpacking and would cut half the grip off of the toothbrush he packed in order to save an extra 5 grams or so these people are completely unhinged
It's super culty, and they've quietly captured a ton of the online hiking and backpacking discourse, which is hilarious because it pied pipers newbies into making terrible purchase and trip planning decisions. You don't want an internally framed pack and a decent hip belt, you want a $400 dyneema trash bag with backstraps!
For a really funny exercise in magical thinking, search "alpha direct" in that sub. It's one of a handful of super light proprietary poly fleeces but the claims they make about it versus its competitors get wild.
You will never have a real eating disorder. You have no angst. No delusion. No compulsion. You are a skinny person twisted by self-improvement and health into a crude mockery of true thinness.
