Unless he's crying over someone dying or something, yeah, it's pathetic, and you'll stay a virgin if you are that emotionally fragile.

edit: He posts in /r/GentleFendom, he should be glad a woman was making fun of him since he's into that stuff.

For real tho dude, if you read this, you need to stop acting like a weakling, it's not cute and women aren't into it. Don't listen to your parents or redditors, they don't know what they're talking about.

Look, I personally have never cried in front of a girlfriend, except for when her cat died, but most women that redditors are dating will probably be understanding. To female Redditors any man capable of telling the waiter they got her order wrong is an emotional rock to lean on.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

It doesn't really have anything to do with being understanding. Even the most liberal woman who says they prefer guys that cry are lying to themselves. How do I know? Because I used to think I was one of those women, who would never judge a sensitive guy who cries often. But then it happened, I and realized there is something about a guy crying when a situation doesn't warrant it (like a pet or person dying) that is really off putting. I know it sounds mean, and I felt bad for feeling this way when my ex cried during a tv show, but I can't help it :marseyshrug:

Even female redditors on other subreddits will admit they got the ick when a guy was too emotional. Any woman that doesn't feel this way either hasn't actually experienced it, or they're one of those domineering women that wear the pants in the relationship.

Ime, women don't want an emotionless statue of a man, but they also don't want an emotionally fragile kitty who cries over everything.

Men are only judged for displaying emotion when others are forced to acknowledge it. If you want to quietly mist your seat during movie night some chicks might even dig that.

But if the Friday game session soundtrack is redditor sobbing someone will tell you to keep yourself safe.

Is it weird that I was more upset about my dog dying than my grandpa dying?

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

It's to be expected that your grandparents die before you. And most likely you knew it was coming, unless it was some accident. If they're in a nursing home and need more and more help you know it's going to happen eventually. And you do prepare yourself for that.

Pets are a bit different. Though most people overdo it with the "fur baby" shit, they are dependent on us and are more like children. You see them grow and while you do know they will die before you, it's still a bit different. It's usually also more random - while you know they're going to die eventually of old age it can happen fast within 1-2 weeks.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Idk it depends. I didn't know one of my grandpa's very well so I didn't cry when he died either.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

He had dementia, and once he forgot who I was, I realized he was already gone. When he finally passed, I actually felt relieved.

Seeing him decline in the nursing home was way more difficult for me than him dying.

Maybe this is a bit heavy for an rDrama comment. :marseythinkorino:
