:marseysweating: is it okay to shed a tear during a particularly emotional movie or something or is going full stone wall stoic still the best play?

I could probably understand that. I know this may make me sound like a b-word but I've had an ex who cried in front of me while we were watching a TV show and it gave me the ick instantly

That does indeed make you sound like a b-word. Being self-aware about it helps, we're all slaves to our own biology.

To be fair, he wasn't crying a few tears, he was crying pretty hard.

@PeepeeButtKiss's auntie was watching @PeepeeButtKiss for a couple nights while parents where out of town and she rented this thinking it would be a light comedy. For the most part it is but it gets real dark and depressing near the end, Sandler did a great performance

It's a generic 80s martial arts movie where the bad guy kills the brother of one of the good guys at the begining.

I was 8 years old and it's still the only movie that's ever made me cry lol.

Men are only judged for displaying emotion when others are forced to acknowledge it. If you want to quietly mist your seat during movie night some chicks might even dig that.

But if the Friday game session soundtrack is redditor sobbing someone will tell you to keep yourself safe.

For further clarity, consider how this is similar to the reactions neurodivergents see when sperging about their special interest to a captive audience.
