His jump was 6 inches higher than the second and third place winners, who tied, and a full 18 inches higher than the girl in fourth place. When you look at the picture, it’s easy to see why.

If I'm reading the post correctly
jumped 10'6", the second place girls jumped 10', and fourth place jumped 9'. I pole vaulted in high school and all of these numbers besides the 
are pathetic, literally equivalent to girls running like a 6:00 mile. How is Maine a real state? There were 5 girls on my team who would have won this meet and probably gotten the state record.
None of these girls got college opportunities taken away from them because they all suck, a girl has to be able to jump at least 11' 3" to walk on at a shitty D1 school. So who cares? These is even faker than most women sports, just let the
have fun.
Ps. If you have ever called yourself competitive as a male pole vaulter jumping 12' please keep yourself safe immediately

It gave me a real respect for women's sports because it's the only real coed sport where boys and girls practiced together, and I could see firsthand how hard they worked. It ruled, my high school friend group was 50% insanely hot girls in spandex and sports bras and we were all dating each other.
If your son is too wimpy for a real sport like football or basketball signing him up for pole vaulting is probably the single best thing you can do for him.
