Just tried sake

Holy frick this is bad. I don't like wine, I don't like vodka. But this tastes like something midway in between, a watered down vodka. And then it's also warm, frick.

I'd rather chug a bottle of the cheapest samogon I can find then drink another glass of this.

Don't let anime fool you, nips have no fricking taste whatsoever.

Yeah sake is an... acquired taste and it ain't gonna taste good if you don't like wine nor vodka already. I think unflavoured Korean soju is kind of the same thing too :marseyhmm:

If you like sweet drinks you might like umeshu (plum wine) I guess, it's a foid drink but I love it :marseydrunk:

I would've thought you know all about this. I don't actually like sweet drinks, but a friend of mine came to visit and brought this. He also brought some Japanese honey drink from some fruit I never heard of, it's also bad, though not as much. I said I don't like vodka that much, but I'd rather drink that instead of this.

I tried japanese whiskey & beer not so long ago which were alright, so it surprises me this is so bad.

it's because sake is a totally different category of alcohol in itself and the brewing processes are different so it ends up tasting like that I guess, and there are really a lot of different types of sake, some drank cold, some sparkling etc etc so maybe the one you had was just not to your taste. usually the ones served warm in my experience would be the house pour sake so maybe it tastes rougher but i'm really not an expert i just like alcohol lol

@LongNose might know more since he lives in Japan

Hmm interesting. He told me sake has more to do with fungal growth than fermentation but idfk what that actually means. Anyways, intereating to know that there are different sakes, I thought it's just rice alcohol and nothing more. Probably not my thing, but curious nonetheless.

@LongNose any comments?

IMO the taste of asian liquor would be really weird if you grew up drinking the usual western ones (as i did) and it wasn't the case whereby the first time i tried sake or soju or chinese baijiu i immediately liked it because i'm asian lol

i honestly find the chinese ones to be the weirdest tasting and it's hard to describe how they even taste like, the :marseychingchong: famously served Nixon some chinese baijiu on a burger state visit to china which I can only imagine how Nixon felt tasting it :marseylaugh:

Nixon's face looks to me like he knows that he's fricked lol

If you still have the rest of the bottle, make it into a nice teriyaki sauce, it's great in that.

Wait nevermind. I will try that

What kind of sauce? I don't think it will work just as a wine substitute in any sauce because it lacks the flavour. Tell me more

Some japanese dishes call for sake (and mirin) so maybe you could just leave it as it is

if its hot it sounds like youre having clear sake. if its gekkeikan its gonna be gross.

you might like ginjo sake bc they add flavors. recommended chilled. also nigori (cloudy sake) is served chilled and is my preference. nigori is smoother imo and sweeter than clear sake

If clear refers to opacity and not the name then yes I'm having clear Sake. I tried looking for the words you said on the bottle and can't find any of them, though some text is in Japanese which I obviously can't read.

Make of it what you will

yeah it refers to the opacity. nigori isnt filtered as thoroughly.

hope you at least had some good food to go with it :marseyramen:

I had some wasabi which was brought along and some smoked ham and cheese which I bought. Probably not the 'classical' combination but wasabi is basically horseradish and I like horseradish

>ham and cheese topped with wasabi

>warm sake to wash it down

Sake is just mid in general, but I find it very smooth :marseydarkfoidretard: and neutral :marseydisagreesuperspeed: flavored

And then it's also warm, frick.

Hot sake is mostly a con. Legit Japanese restaurants will serve even their :marseymid: stuff cold.

Peepeees are objectively more aesthetically pleasing than v*ginas.

Now, I am a massive cute twink, but I wouldn't think much of a straight man who just prefers peepees (like carp for example). I just recoil in horror every time I see a v*gina. Not even getting into uncut vs cut or size debates, the vast majority of peepees are more pleasing to the eye. And don't even get me started on female vs male genital hygiene. You know v*ginas bleed once a month, right? Have you ever seen pictures of a yeast infection? I guarantee it would be eye-opening. Peepeees on the other hand self-clean several times per day if you're hydrated. My uncut brethren may need to pay a little more attention to hygiene, but this is still vastly easier to do than v*ginal hygiene.

Yes yes I know "muh reproduction" now maybe I would understand this argument if you could choose the gender of your child. But the chance of spawning another icky f*male is just too high. I will stick with men going their own way with other men thank you very much.
