Do you guys have/use an air fryer?

Is it any good, or just a meme?

Thinking of getting one

I do and they're good for several things. In particular I find they're the best way to prepare vegetables. I use this mix with steak: diced potatoes with a little olive oil, salt and garlic powder go in first for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then a mix of sweat peas, diced bell peppers and onions with some oil salt and chili powder to taste are then added after the 10 minutes and it all goes for another 9 minutes at 360 degrees. Twenty minutes for a great veggie side.

You gotta think about it like this: your air fryer is likely built under the max of 15 amps x 120v so max of 1800watts and around 100 watts are gonna be used for the fan, your oven is gonna be on a 30 amp x 240v (mine is 40 amp x 240v) so a max of 7200w (or 9600. so you can make something more energy efficient potentially, but there's really a limit to it and at the end of the day it's a mini shitty plugin convection oven.

Put them on a meat rack w/ foil lined baking sheet.

Pre-heat 450, throw the chicken in, reduce to 425, remove 45 minutes later.

I use it for chicken all the time. Two pounds of chicken breast takes 15 minutes. Wings take about 20. It's crazy.
