i never eaten a morel but i bought some chanterelles semi-recently and sauteed em up w garlic and olive oil and holy shit that was bomb.
Mushrooms are cool like that the best edible mushrooms can't really be culitviated. Morels, chanterelles, and truffles and shit like that have to be caught in the wild

Unfortunately I think it was just the weather wasn't right this year. It jumped from the 40s to the mid 70s this year, with a sudden hard freeze. My lilac didn't really bloom either this year.
I usually dump some ashes from my fire pit and don't rake the areas where they grow. The last couple years I've got soda can sized morels out of the spots.
