The Nevada Burger King cook who received a measly gift from management for his nearly 30 years of fast food service without ever missing a day is starting a new venture in the culinary industry.

Kevin Ford plans to open a food truck with his daughter after he received more than $400,000 from a fundraising campaign over his viral story

Ford struck internet fame in 2022 when his Burger King supervisors at the Las Vegas McCarran International Airport celebrated his 27th anniversary with the fast food joint with a random assortment of gifts.

His daughter, Seryna, wasn't so pleased with her father's bosses and created a GoFundMe to show her love for the man she says helped put his four daughters through high school and college because of his dedication to the chain.

"He originally began working at this job as a single father when he gained custody of me and my older sister 27 years ago," Seryna wrote back in 2022.

"Then as our family grew and he remarried, he continued to work there because of the amazing health insurance that was provided through this employer because it was unionized. This got all four of his daughters through high school and college with full healthcare coverage."

The fundraiser has since made $459,800, well over the initial $200 goal.

The Burger King employee and his daughter, who was trained at the French culinary school Le Cordon Bleu, will begin with a basic menu consisting of hamburgers and hot dogs.

Ford told the outlet he wanted to add Filipino dishes to the menu to honor his Filipina fiancée.

As he begins his entrepreneurship, Ford remains a dedicated worker at Burger King but plans to retire by May 2025, his 30th anniversary with the company, he told the outlet.

The purchase of the new mobile dining establishment comes months after Ford bought his first home thanks to the money raised through the GoFundMe.

27 years isn't exactly a milestone anniversary. I wouldn't expect anything for years that weren't multiples of 10.

Also could you imagine working in the Las Vegas Airport Burger King for nearly three decades?

My wife knows vet techs that been in the same job for 30-40 years. Same job. No goals or aspirations for anything higher. Its shit like that is what makes me a firm believer most people really are just :marseynpc2: that are content with doing the same thing over and over again. Forever.

Which is why I'm sad to think this dudes food truck business is going to flop in a year. He literally doesn't know how to do anything else except flip patties, and running your own business where you have to handle all the logistics yourself? Yeah half a mil down the drain lol.

Lol dude who reported my comment is 16 days into his grass award :marseylaughpoundfist:

Hey different strokes, I'm not saying to job hop every 2 years but a little change or progression every 5 years or so sounds more reasonable than something like

>I've been an account receivables clerk for 25 years

Then at least you're at less risk of becoming redundant from some new process automation

Most millenials will never know a job outside a dead office and a computer, or worse, a work from homo job.

Almost every new hire @StolenValorShill get in Forestry are passionate and dedicated too the work within a year because they've taken the effort too start a career where you work outside in a calm serene environment and do work that actually matters for the betterment of the environment that's 100% aligned with TR's vision of preserving our resources for generations too come. @StolenValorShill don't think I've had a single ranger or forester leave unsatisfied with the job. I liked when I hit my 10 year anniversary so my employer sent me an "engraved Klein tool" (linesmans pliers)

1. I already have a linesmans. You get one on your first day

2. It wasn't engraved, it was silkscreened.

3. It wasn't a Klein, it was an Ideal.

4. instead of my name, they silkscreened the company name.

5. The company changed their name a few months later.
