I believe in doing something to get out of a funk but, very infrequently, I'll have a period where I am filled with such dread and despair I just have to wait it out. I'll spend all day doing crosswords to keep my mind distracted as much as possible, the only thing keeping me going is I know it will pass eventually

The last one I got was earlier this year, happened after a bad cold (I don't usually get sick). Before that, I hadn't had a depressive episode for 4 years, they have luckily become very rare
