Volvo's "one sequel max" strategy is, if you think about it, unintentional genius. You make a game off new IP, either it's great or it sucks. If it sucks, go back to step 1 (or keep yourself safe), if it's great, make a sequel. If it sucks, back to step 1, but if it's even better than the first odds are even if you're some sort of demigod you're not going to be able to top it again. So stop there, go back to 1, and start over with a new IP. You might succeed, there are series where it's at least a semi-consistent climb in quality, but it's rare and not worth the risk tbh. Listen to GabeN, print money.
This applies to movies, too, which is why there are basically no trilogies where the third installment is any good. T
Welcome, outlander, to the halls of House Dagoth, the Sixth House of rdrama, a place without filthy n'wahs and s'wits. Here, amidst the ancient corridors echoing with the whispers of the past, the insatiable thirst for drama fuels the Heart Lorkhan. Delve into the mysteries that lie within, challenge the accepted narratives, and find your place amongst the disciples of Dagoth Ur. As the lost Sixth House reborn on the ashes of the Red Mountain, we beckon the curious, the ambitious, and the unyielding. We will prove that the current houses are nothing but dogs of the empire
