I imagine MK1 is there out of pity
MvC2 is probably gonna get a lot of attention
No DBFZ this year and any delusion Sparking Zero would be onstage is crushed too
I wonder if Mai (!builtfor) will be playable and if so, if she will be OP

There must be some sort of WB money keeping mk1 in the main lineup. Not even the most delusional NRScels I know play that game.
Is the extended lineup just the new sidetourneys? The best part about evo was always the player-ran side events. If those are out in favor of more "Sponsored Content" that would be a shame. I've been hoping they bring BBCF back to the mainstream as a guest game one of these years, but if the side tourneys are gone I'll just stick with the tourneys in Canada.

I wonder why MK1 flopped, was it just the shitty new redesigns?

I can't give an honest account because I loathe every MK game that is released, but this one launched in a state that was terrible even for a modern fighting game. My friends who play NRS games said there were player 1 only combos, the assist system was r-slurred, and that it was just fundamentally a bad game. I don't know how that's different from the rest of them but it's apparently just an unplayable dumpster fire.
