I recently started rewatching this, I hadn't seen it since like 2012 and this shit still holds up to pop-dramas today.
I know the ending was annoying for a lot of people and the time travel stuff was weird but the scope of the show and the mystery of the lead up is hard to beat. I had forgot most of the smaller details going into the show and rewatching actually made me interested in the answers for the stuff hinted at in the earlier seasons. Are there any more modern shows that have the same type of feel, like the mystery suspense drama but actually done well?

Good Lost was some of the best television ever made. Bad Lost almost made me stop watching the show. It's been ages since I watched it so I don't remember exactly when it happened but there was a point in the series where they just kept throwing mystery after mystery at you without ever resolving anything. Like season 3 or 4 I think? It was frustrating to watch.

It was the beginning of S3. After the “mini pod” of six episodes, Disney ABC realized the show couldn’t just continue down that “tread water” path and agreed to allow Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse (the show runners) to end it after six seasons. When S3 came back, it had probably the strongest back half to any season of TV I’d ever seen up to that point.
The show, despite its missteps, was an incredible achievement.
