Seeing Quentin Tarintino's bizarre and almost fetishistic negrophilia outside of the film has somewhat ruined the coolness for me. In interviews it's so obvious he has a weird complex about black people.

I love the action, cinematography, acting, pacing in this movie but I don't like the second half. I watched the first half of this movie (up to the end of Django's winter/bounty hunting) and I was like "this movie kicks butt, one of the best westerns I've seen" and then I watched the second half and I was like "eh". I think it loses focus and it feels like Tarantino didn't really know where to go with the story once he got to candyland so he just added a bunch of violence and explosions. Still fun to watch but it just feels hollow imo.

He just wants to hide the fact that he came from Torrance.
Regardless, this is his greatest movie

Jackie Brown is underrated Kino. I really enjoyed Tarintino's earlier work where he was more restrained.

Agreed. He’s best when he’s not both writer and director.
