Yeah, when people say Snyder's not "really" a fascist because he doesn't understand the themes and just likes s*x and violence, they forget that he tried to elevate cryptofascist great value batman from a lonely psychopath into this picture of righteous vengeance and moral incorruptibility. I don't think he's trying to advocate for genocide or actively promoting an agenda, but he spends an awful lot of time portraying and glorifying fascist ideals and concepts about "glorious empires" and "lone wolves who do what needs to be done" and death cults of strong heroic men dying violently for heroic causes
