It's geniunely hilarious but the whiny "I hate myself everything sucks" mentality of the writers bleeds through waaaaaaay too much, even for a show about a funny depressed alcoholic. Also Diane ( the ghostwriter) is a legit terrible character yet I don't think the writers intended that.

you're meant to side with her in her relationship but what actually happens with mr pb is

she deliberately tries to frick his career for attention despite him being the only breadwinner

also we're meant to hate her family but they were completely right about her, she was an entitled, stuck-up b-word who clearly had no love or respect for them
