Its a good film but not necessarily for everyone. For me it has some memorable and good parts, like the "In heaven" scene, but you have to be in a specific kind of state of mind to enjoy and get into it - a state of mind which most people in contemporary western society simply never go into. Lynch's work is heavily influenced by eastern philosophical thought which is why it doesn't impact the average western observer in the way that he would probably like it to, not that he cares much because I think his primary drive for creation was joy of expressing an idea, not making slop for the audience. He didn't have any deep insights or teachings to impart, he simply translated his unconsciousness into the medium of film the same way you would write down a dream - That's why Dune didn't work for him.

When I watch his films, I'm often disappointed as they have scenes like the following that set an awesome tone, draw me in, but the rest falls flat.

I didn't really like twin peaks. It was hard to be engaged in the plot because everything proceeded based on surreal dream-logic revelations. Aside from that everything left was just vibes, but since I'm not gay or a woman that didn't do enough for me
