Weekly what are you watching #36

Recently saw the trailer of a new Jackie Chan movie A Legend. One of the comments said it was a "sequel" of "The Myth" (also Jackie) from 2005, so I watched that one.

Well... I apparently watched it already, cause many scenes were familiar, I just forgot completely about the movie. Absolutely not comparable to Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, Drunken Master or Police Story. Not horrible, but just forgettable.

On the other hand, when I consider it was released at the same time as the LotR movies, HK cinema has done a lot of catchup from a technical standpoint since then. The Myth has some really obvious/shit CGI.

I watched Atonement, Thought it was going to be a cute romance and didn't realize it was a sad sack film. Very nicely done though

Started watching Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Slow start, but it gets better as it goes.

Continuing with Solo Leveling, which aside from the annoying 5 minutes of music at the start/end of every episode has been pretty good.

Want to start some Korean/Chinese historical dramas, but can't find any good torrent sites for them.

It's too much to write out about each individually, but if anyone's interested in a particular movie I can tell a bit about it and of my impressions

I recently discovered election night schadenfreude videos on youtube, going for my third one tonight, watching cnn uber sneed is going to be kino.

Gonna see anora at the theater with my foid this week.

Been watching 2002 SNL episodes as I go to bed. They cut out all the musical performances on peapeepee since they don't have the streaming rights to them which is perfect because that's the worst part of SNL. Tina and Jimmy Fallon are pretty good Weekend updaters.

The Pledge (2001). It's really good film. Solid directing, captivating story, and a great cast topped by auguably one of Jack Nicholson's best performances. The score/soundtrack is outstanding too.

But man, the film really ends on a downer. Almost as depressing as The Mist (2007).

Saw A different man, It did well at what it was going for but I dislike the film on a meta level.

Also it's dumb that guys hang dong in modern film but women dont go full frontal. If you are gonna show some of it show all of it you fricking cowards

I saw Den of Theives 2. It was stupid and didn't make sense, but I was entertained. 6/10
