She's a hapa (part Filipino) apparently, and there are a ton of those in Hawaii.
But yeah if they want to find Nani lookalike they probably need to go for a Samoan or Latinx even. I think actual Native Hawaiians make up 10% of Hawaii at this point, and they're probably really mixed.
