I really oughta write that Bionicle effortpost like I've been meaning to do. It's such a fascinating setting, with an incredible amount of originality and passion from the employees. It's one of the great fantasy sci-fi settings, it really is, and it came out a kid's lego theme of all origins.

I'm not cinema versed enough to answer that question I think.
But looking at the lists first row. Citizen Kane which I think holds up, and is a great film without pointing out it being groundbreaking for it's time or whatever, can be a pleb filter on account of being old alone.
On the other hand Stalker... I don't belive so many 4chinners like it. I liked it on my second watch (where I managed to stay awake for the whole thing), but nothing happens in that film and then it ends. If someone doesn't like it it means nothing. And if they do, do they really?

Stalker is only popular cause of vidya. Normies have consistently asked me to watch it without knowing what they're getting into. Definitely the weakest of Tarkovsky's films. Even for soviet films, it's incredibly slow. For fast paced fiction Tarkovsky, watch Andrei Rublev. For slow and artsy Tarkovsky, watch Nostalgia. Stalker is the worst of all worlds. Still better than 90 pct of this list though.

Tarkovskyshit has that issue where the director is also the writer so there is tons of yapping in a visual medium. I giggled in Solaris when they go into the philosophy room with the philosopher busts to talk about philosophy. Still great films though, and I think I'd get more out of them if I spoke Russian so I wasn't having to speedread this neighbor's stream of consciousness.

Missed that. It belongs, but after probably 4-5 other Spielberg films. There's also 2 Coen brothers' movies, but Lebowski doesn't belong.
Saying 2001 is the GOAT but Interstellar isn't in the top 100 is proof you're just trying to sound smart. And all the old films on this list are just the ones you're supposed to like. Where is Birth of a Nation and Gone with the Wind? Surely 4chan isn't afraid of their racism.
