Senile old geezer Redactor could never understand our fresh, creative ideas about a dystopian future of draconian tyrants, mad scientists, and plague-stricken mutants. These new and innovative concepts were invented by Todd Howard for Fallout 4, the first game ever made, and he could never hope to grasp them.
-- You
It's a pretty good movie, watchable if not great on its own merits. It's only 75 minutes long, it's not like you're making a huge sacrifice putting it on when you go to bed. But what's really interesting is how they could make a decent dystopian scifi movie the same quality as we'd get from Hollywood now but in one week for $125,000. It must have cost a billion dollars by now to make the Hunger Games and Neurodivergent series and I'd rather watch this.
It's not like these were even new ideas in 1960. You can hear all this on the radio show Dimension X from 1950, which in turn was mostly based on earlier stories from pulp magazines. Sorry zoomers, but every idea that was possible to think of was already thought up half way through the last century.
Especially notable is the character of Princess Trirene, who has the three traits I look for in a woman:
5'3"
wears miniskirts
never talks

@Salvadore_Ally_Chud don't have the link with @Salvadore_Ally_Chud right now but @Salvadore_Ally_Chud remember there being an interesting interview with some famous comic book writer. @Salvadore_Ally_Chud think it was with the guy who wrote Watchmen comic, and he was talking about how cinema and storytelling appears too have stagnated around the start of the 20th century and for the most part everything till the beginning of the 21st century is pretty much a copy of a copy and writing as a medium is not evolving any further into anything greater in terms of quality.
For movies at least @Salvadore_Ally_Chud believe the CGI and special effects obviously improved. @Salvadore_Ally_Chud is of the opinion that the pacing also improved, but the depths of the story itself, in the majority of cases, leave something too be desired, with old movies often times still having deeper stories than what has come out in recent times. Perhaps the disneyfication of the movie industry is too blame, where now every story requires that it be possible for a 12 year old too be able too comprehend it or else it is considered too convoluted for the audience too keep up.
Btw are you like one of those immortal billionaires just killing time on rdrama because you know you are going too live forever?
The movie you linked released in 1960, and @Salvadore_Ally_Chud is assuming you didn't get too watch it until you had reached adulthood. Which suggests that you are at least 85 years old by now. Taking into account how lucid you are, this would suggest that you are in the top 1% income bracket wherever you live, because if you're mind wasn't strong enough too get into the 1%, then you're mind also wouldn't be strong enough too still be working right now at you're age of 85 this well.

Sounds plausible to me. A lot of this stuff, they figured out the right way to do it a long time ago and if you change the formula you're only going to make it worse.
Yes and no.
The effects themselves are better, but directors these days are way lazier about how they use them. Back when this stuff was new and incredibly expensive, they were very careful to use it wisely. For example, the effects in the original Star Wars still hold up pretty well (at least to me). Or the first extensive use of CGI in a movie in Star Trek II:
As primitive as the technology was back then, they found the most impressive possible way to use it. A lot of care went into deciding what to do in every second of this sequence. Capeshit slop these days just has a bunch of random chaotic fireballs and magic missiles flying around. When spaceships fought back in my boomer times, if someone fired their laser guns it meant something. Now there's a thousand laser blasts going on all at once and none of them matter.
And there can't be any nuance that's hard to translate into other languages since foreign markets are so much more important now.
Of course not. I'm a normie. Just a regular human who eats and has a heartbeat and everything.
Yeah, those were the days. Things have all gone downhill since women stopped wearing skirts.

It reminds @Salvadore_Ally_Chud of video game cutscenes from the early 2000s and late 1990s. Guess this is where they learned that style from?
The foreign market easy comprehension point is good.
Put @Salvadore_Ally_Chud in you're will when you are about too go too the farm upstate. ( @Salvadore_Ally_Chud is joking @Salvadore_Ally_Chud just realized it would be impossible too find @Salvadore_Ally_Chud too even pay the will money because @Salvadore_Ally_Chud is using an anonymous account. )
Honestly @Salvadore_Ally_Chud agree with you. Depending on the skirt, skirts do look better on women.
