Kate Blanchett has played some pretty kickass women in some of her movies.

…I feel weird saying so, but I'm confused and kind of dismayed by the pronouns used for Lohar? I kept wondering if the initial he/him was something that would be corrected or something, and really felt weird that they left the character as male identifying? Is that weird? Did I miss something?

I've gathered that this character takes lots of notes from another book character who was genderfluid and had many wives. So I think the character is AFAB and uses he/him pronouns, or is genderfluid, or Lohar just is known as he/him professionally? IDK. Abigail was amazing and the perfect mix of comedic relief and badassery this show needed!

It's hard to get captivated by this show when it feels like a Tumblr/4chan culture war thing from 2016

Half of the characters look like insta models (or are literal YouTubers like Abigail Thorne) and the themes very obviously try to mimic our zeitgeist in the real world. There is no awe, amazement, or creative political intrigue, only the dullest aspects of real life

Abigail Thorn. Way to just pull me completely out of the scene…. Don't get me wrong, I don't care that a MtF in the context of medieval fantasy makes essentially zero sense. But Abagail is so jarringly bad at acting (not to mention the hours I've watched of her) that I can't take any scene with her seriously.

Even the final scene was cool bc Alicent's monologue about how history will see her is indirectly proving that Fire and Blood is written from overly biased perspectives and in the end doesn't really mean much with this being an adaptation bc the histroies will dictate people as monsters

Also I am hoping we'll still get nettles, rhena found sheepsteeler but it would be based if she's just chilling alongside nettles somewhere in a cave
