As we all know the top tax bracket is >50% in some provinces. Way too high for what we get out of it. Looking to pay less, anyone got any tax evasion tips for next year? I've got a sole proprietorship on the side if that helps. Already maxed RRSP and FHSA so no luck there.
Inb4 move to America (I am strongly considering it)

I know lots of business owners "employ" family members so that they each earn a salary in a more agreeable bracket than if one person earned all that money.
Maybe get a native ID card and claim you live on rez??

Unfortunately still have to pay both sides of cpp when paying family members. I think best is to incorporate and take dividends instead. The native hack is such a good grift, wish I could one drop rule my way in but I'm as white as they come

The best plan I have involves making an agreement with someone to sell each other goods or services for well below market value. As the seller you pay less tax on the earnings and as the buyer you obviously save money.
It's essentially bartering but I guess the small amounts of cash exchanged are insurance for when you don't both have the good available to trade at the same time.

What province? I'd leave Ontario as they're passing an act that would ban employers from requiring Canadian experience

Technically employers don't have to change, just reject unqualified people and say “we're moving in a different direction”. But for engineers/APEGA I bet that will be a shitshow
