How is this national news? Folding bollards existed for about 100 years now…
Because it's meant to stir up anger. Just another in a long line of National Post garbage articles.
Reddit has become a ragebait cesspool lately. It's disappointing.
If you haven't noticed, this sub solely exists to shit on the country and make it out to be 100x worse than it really is.

If you're not a total fricking dork I can see it. It's got a weird beginning, some of the scenes are not v well written imo. Picks up right after though.
It's a book I cant put down when I start it, always feels like a novella when I'm done

I read and re read Snowcrash as a teen. Looking back, that book was not very good. The part with YT and the native dude at the end was completely fricked

Good worldbuilding but awful characterization and boring prose. I see it as a "good for its time" book but I personally wouldnt really recommend it to anyone.

The Stars My Destination by Alfred Best has been considered one of the first "cyberpunk" literature to exist, and while corny by today's standards I thought it was still a fun read.
Shadowrun for snes was pure fricking kino and I'll dump peepee down your throat if you larp otherwise
Matrix shredded the globe in 2. It changed cinema. It changed vidya. It made the wachowski Brothers chop off their peepees and become the wachowski sisters.
I won't even mention the game crassly named Cyberpunk (2077). It's a strange and fun game, explores a lot of transhumanist themes while recognizing the unshakeable human condition. Cyberpunk was never shit.

I liked the film the Long Kiss Goodnight. I think it was the only other one worth watching.
I also kinda liked the first Iron Mans but I like Tony Stark as a character so idc what it had to do with cyberpunk, it's still a good movie.
