I've literally read the hobbit and some of lord of the rings to my children. They're not difficult, just extremely wordy
In LOTR Frodo literally doesn't leave the shire for over a decade after getting the ring until Gandalf comes back and they have the lengthiest conversation about good and evil and the origins of the ring. Its great at putting them to sleep lmao.
You want a heavy butt wordy book that makes you feel like you need a highIQ read Road to Serfdom.
