My theory on Jordan Peele is that he's doing two unusual things at once: he's creating original films without franchise tie-ins, sequels, or derivative nonsense, and he's casting black actors as the leads. I think the critics are obsessed with the latter, but audiences probably like the former (even if they are not aware).
Personally, I admire that he's not doing Capeshit 56: Lady Thor, CPA.

This is a ridiculous comment and shows how little you know about film. "The Shape of Water" is a beautiful, moving, and well-made film that deserves all the acclaim it's gotten. It's not "tokenism" to recognize and celebrate a great film made by a diverse group of people.

I rewatched get out and it’s such a mid horror movie tbh. I will let it slide though because it gave Peele enough acclaim to make his own stuff. Us had a cool concept but poor execution while Nope is hands down my favorite movie this year.

It's the movie production studio that at least attempts to make decent horror movies, obviously not all land.
The other big studio is Blumhouse productions which mass produces shit to throw at the wall in the hope that one of its movie sticks.
