MAID is the "Medical Assistance In Dying" program in Canada and they've been getting in some polemic news lately as there are stories of mentally ill people and veterans who are told to apply for it instead of offering other ways to help them

Virgin: Wants to help old people, prolong their staying until they die.
Chad: Giving the syringe for hearing loss
Lad: Kill them anyway, God will decide if they end up in heaven or purgatory
Gad: Artificially extend the life of everyone without easing any suffering, the older you get the more you suffer

The Dutch used to be the leaders in being way too eager to bump off anyone who is sick. The Canadians only just recently took first place by offering euthanasia to anyone who is sad or having a bad day. Iiirc it's only in 2023 that they start executing patients for having depression, so we're only seeing the beginning of it.

I believe it's the courts fault. It started out as only for the truly terminally ill, but someone cried discrimination because depression is just as valid as cancer.
