I still don't get wtf happened with exams/quizzes. That makes sense for cheating on homework but did this school just not have any final exams at all? Or did they let her use her phone throughout the whole thing (plus probably granted her extra time bc that kind of translation is slow)? And what about handwriting? I had to literally write, with a pencil and paper, my exams in high school. Do they just not do that anymore?
On one hand, she was obviously cheating. On the other hand, I straight up don't believe that the school had no idea she couldn't read or write.
Rule #1 in education today: if Asians/Mayos do better on something than BIPOCs, that thing is inherently suspect and should be thrown out of the system. In this case, tests and exams.
Why tf do we even graduate students with severe dyslexia? Unironically if you can't read or write then you shouldn't get a high school diploma. "oh but you need it for so much" no idiots you need to be literate for so much, giving somebody the diploma when they're illiterate doesn't help them, literally no job is going to hire her unless they can pay her peanuts or the govt forces them to.

I saw it first on business insider, but CNN picked it up now. I don't know where they think they're going to go with this other than people realizing she's an r-slured cheater. The first article I read mentioned disciplinary problem accusations that she denied.
I guess it's pure clickbait and nothing is beneath journos, but it'll be funny if this becomes some department of education culture war topic and they dig up shit on her.

To avoid some confusion here, she got accepted into a UConn satellite school that has a 97% acceptance rate, not the flagship.

This has been posted several times but it's a funny story because of how ridiculous it is.
Here's a reddit thread: https://old.reddit.com/r/education/comments/1j0a82o/she_graduated_from_high_school_with_honors_but/
