The UN has always been a joke because it included the Russians but this takes it to another level. This is a level of shamelessness beyond anything even the Soviets did. When China and Russia and their clients are openly against the whole concept of international law, it really calls into question why the organization still exists.
The real takeaway from this though is that India is being impudent and needs to be punished. Just read what @Sasanka_of_Gauda says. He's not some weird outlier, he's what Indians actually believe. They've got an extreme inferiority complex where they claim they're going to be the next superpower, but when it comes to actually join the family of civilized nations they retreat back into pretending that they're oppressed third worlders and have to tear down the world order. Newsflash r-slurs: The British Raj ended 75 years ago. You're not owning anyone but yourselves by being r-slurs in 2022. The only other country that's this self-destructive and insists on being an anti-civilization shithole is Pakistan.

When China and Russia and their clients are openly against the whole concept of international law
So is the US... They stopped caring after their Persian Gulf war, which was legitimate enough since Iraq invaded Kuwait. The whole concept of international law (over geopolitical nonsense) is absurd. At least with international trade, there's an entire court system and rule of law built over centuries which is still adhered to. With governments, it's a joke, so for you to mald about China and Russia ignoring international "law" is laughable.
Small power cope. This is what the French tell themselves so they can sleep at night.
Also supporting Russia against America for no good reason is the opposite of "multipolar". It only makes sense if you're in a bipolar world where India is a minor power and all it can do is throw its (limited) weight behind Russia to try to tip the scales. Which is r-slurred on many levels but I'm just gonna go with the most obvious one that India is more important and powerful than Russia right now. It's like those incel currycels* on reddit who are sure they can never make it as a real man no matter how successful they are.
* Yes, I said "incel currycel" because that's what I have to do here to make sure people understand me properly.
Russia has strengths neither China nor India has, military technology being the most important. Without Russian tech transfer neither country would have a domestic military industry. And even now with stuff like nuclear reactors Russian expertise is very useful, there's a reason they are the ones building reactors all over the world. Like it or not its second only to America in high tech stuff, maybe not IT etc but the Cold War era high tech things. Best tanks in the world, there's a reason we operate more T90s than Russia itself. Plus specifically for us they control China's northern border. And have a vested interest in ensuring China doesn't grow too powerful.

Are you fricking kidding me? India has had a million join ventures with European countries and most of them ended up as failures. It's not that the Europeans lack the technology or refuse to share it, it's that Indian corruption and red tape is so crippling that nothing ever gets done.
Israelis seem to do just fine, lots of joint Indo Israeli ventures Brahmos for Indo-Rus(which incidentally is also going to American client states like the Philippines), Barak 8 for Indo-Israeli...
I think its just a matter of urgency. Euros and Americans have other options and no real compulsion, why concede their edge to a potential competitor. Israel knows it needs other strong supporters before the pro Palesticuck zoomoids assume power in the west and so has to ingratiate itself with China and us and Russia knows it needs us to keep a viable military industry running. Take CATOBAR I'm sure an offer to share that tech with us for the new 65,000 ton carrier that's being built would be very well received and boost Quad a ton but America will never do it, it'll look to sell us naval f 18s sure but that's not a status quo we wish to keep in the long term, being dependent on foreigners for defence needs.Meanwhile Australia gets nuclear subs despite obviously not having the strength to be anything more than an auxiliary force to the US navy.

Ew. Gross. The whole reason I want India to be more aligned to Russia is that Russia contains close to $80T of natural resources. Resources which are soon to open up due to the thawing of the tundra east. China will obviously be a huge consumer of that. If India starts getting those, a lot of west countries will open up businesses in India and make bank with low wages.
Lol of course their resources are nice too but their tech isn't something to sneeze at either. They did go it alone and have a functional economy till the 90s, not like any of the other countries in the Warsaw Pact contributed much technologically.

It's not like autarky did them any favors under communism. They'd be world contenders as far as industry and natural resources goes had they not gone full r-slur into socialism. Same goes for India, which is still suffering from its experiment over decades with central planning.
The main unsaid purpose of the UN is to let the classically dominant nuclear powers all have enough veto power that they never feel the need to escalate into a nuclear WW3.

Of course it's absurd. It doesn't exist.
