Ukraine is no longer low on artillery ammo because Russia abandoned so much in recent retreats, report says

Ukraine is now well-supplied with artillery ammo taken from the Russian retreat, the WSJ reported.

They just fled and left everything behind."

The US depleted its own reserves of some ammunition in supplying Ukraine, with levels of 155 mm ammunition becoming "uncomfortably low," as one unnamed defense official told the WSJ in late August.

As its soldiers recaptured huge swathes of territory in the northeastern Kharkiv region, Russians dropped their guns and abandoned tanks.

Fake news. How many fricking journos need to write articles about the US "running out of shells." We've given about a million rounds and we still have 2-3MM more. DOD ramped down production after Afghanistan withdrawal and now they are ramping it back up. It really shouldn't be any cause for concern.

They're increasing production but it takes a long time to actually get results. Increasing production doesn't mean shells are rolling off the line, early on it just means they're building the infrastructure to do that later. As it stands if we were suddenly imposed with another Afghanistan situation we'd be dreadfully unprepared as far as artillery goes. These journos are super pro-Ukraine so if they're saying it's a risk that we're giving them too much I doubt they're doing so out of the usual journo agenda-pushing

Journos are r-slurred. More news at 11. The only way it becomes an issue is if we go to war with someone other than Russia in the next 3-6 months. The risk is low and there really shouldn't be cause for concern.

And China would be a naval/air battle. The artillery was for Russia, and it's heartwarming to see my tax dollars finally being used as intended for once

Nah bro ramping up production means they just turn the factories speed up.

Really tho, who tf cares if we're out of artillery shells (or low)? The current us political situation won't allow for another Afghanistan or any land war where artillery shells would make or break us

Oh no we only have enough 155 to turn an entire 3 oil-producing producing shitholes into Freedom (burning rubble). Whatever shall we do except make more?
