Nah, the house almost always goes to the opposing party during midterm years. The senate is usually the tricky one since only a third of the seats are up at any given time and even if the R's should have an advantage it's mainly R seats that are up for reelection (and in states that aren't 100% reliably red). That combined with the abortion ruling is why the D's are doing uncharacteristically well in the Senate races
R's nominating a bunch of absolute r-slurs for senate doesn't help. Every election year these people manage to nominate some "I am not a witch"-tier mong for one of the most powerful positions in the country, and this year there's like three of them.
I thought it was the case that the Republicans in general struggle in house e.g. how they couldn't win it 20 years straight even during Reagan until Bush II though.
