But she tell di magazine say she get "zero regrets."

She add: "I for don give anytin if pesin don tell me, 'Freeze your eggs. Do yourself favour.' You just no tink am. So here I dey today," she tok. "Di ship don sail."

According to someone I know while the words are correct for (presumably) Nigerian pidgin.

A. No one actually speaks this way. The words and changes are right but very rarely would you pack them into one sentence like that and the kind of people to use one word X wouldn't use another word Y in the same speech.

B. You're never actually supposed to write this in the first place. For those who speak pidgin mainly, they still write the "proper" way as that's how they'd have been taught. You're never actually supposed to write pidgin as that's why it's a pidgin, not a creole.

C. As such it's really hard to read even if you know it. Not extremely so but annoying.

Hmm, it seems similar to how people write on Nairaland though no?

Nairaland, the few times I've visited, generally has short screeds for this very reason and the longer pieces of text generally always are not in pidgin.
