No, I hate killing pets. I don't even like having to put follow up shots in deer still breathing. Mounting a pet always looks awful too, we don't accept them and no other taxidermist I know of does.

We had a guy that told us to put a roaring mountain lion mouth in a sheep. So we could probably do the vampire dog.
We also had a guy that went to Africa and shot a baboon, he asked us to pose it like it was reaching out, open mouth screaming so he could put it in a closet and scare his wife.

Had a friend who worked at a vet office briefly, but only in reception. It's an awful field, the pay is incredibly low. Veterinarians stay in school almost as long as doctors but the pay is way lower. A vet tech makes like $2 above minimum and does the work of a nurse but also gets routinely yelled at by clients.
It's not in the book of trades or whatever, so there are no federal pay grades.

Yeah people go into vet work because they love animals and then they end up having to put down healthy or treatable pets all day because their owners are shitbags.
Being a large animal vet at like a zoo or something seems like the life tbh. You just get to minmax the health of super cool exotic animals all day and you never put any animal down without a spectacularly good reason.
