Honestly not gonna happen on the GPU front, the only reason they were able to catch up in CPU space was Intel's utter incompetency.
Since 2014, Intel literally only had 1 node jump, and 2 real new architectures (including 11th gen backport)

I wouldn't call it utter incompetency from intel.
Fabbing bleeding edge nodes is hard. AMD having to spin off global foundries due to their lagging sales ended up being beneficial the past few generations.
Intel foundries is still edging out Samsung LSI. TSMC's 3B seems to be having issues.
I do think intel putting a greater emphasis on being a foundry will pay off long term.
Where AMD has done really well is server chips where they have clawed a ton of marketshare back.
The DIY PC market is largely irrelevant. For notebooks intel actually readily supplies their CPUs and subsidizes OEM designs (the entire Ultrabook push.)
Foundries leapfrog each other. TSMC's 20nm process had planar leakage while Samsung's 14nm finfet was dominating mobile.
