Ehhh, in the early/mid-10s the MS Suite didn't have collaboration features at all, GSuite had that day one which was a godsend when working on group projects.
It was even better at the tail-end of HS when we had Chromebooks. Way better than bottom-barrel Thinkpads that had to run all the school malware.

idk back in 2016 when I was consulting for a school, they had google's school emails where they could create unlimited emails for all the students (there were 5000 students in the school) so like every student, teacher had a school id. They were mainly used to distribute assessments, assignments and login to some SSO linked education apps
