Unless I'm mistaken (somebody correct me if I am) the ELN's stronghold was near Panama, but now they appear near Venezuela. How is a small FARC splinter group paying its troops?
This has something to do with Venezuela. Maybe their government is trying to stir up trouble. More likely, these 
rebel groups are drug gangs and they're involved with the drug gangs in Venezuela.
