NEWARK, New Jersey (WABC) -- A New Jersey Transit bus driver and passenger were both arrested last Friday after getting into a fight in Newark.

It happened Aug. 16 around noon on a crowded bus at Broad and Lafayette streets.

Authorities say they responded to reports of a physical altercation between the bus driver and an adult passenger.

The fight started after the rider reportedly spit on the driver.

That bus driver had told passengers to move to the back of the bus before the fight broke out, officials say.

Newark police have reviewed video of the fight, which appears to show the driver choking the passenger while continuing to punch him.

"It's a bus driver trying to help out the community, and you did wrong to a bus driver that's trying to help us out. He's doing his job and he wants to feel safe," said bus passenger Zoey Clarke.

Both men face a charge of aggravated assault.

Eyewitness News reporter Anthony Johnson spoke to NJ Transit riders, who had a lot of different opinions about what happened, and who was right or wrong.

"He spit on him, which is physical but at the same time I think he should have called the police," Newark resident Darrel Armstrong said.

"If someone spit on me, I'm automatically hitting them," Newark resident Donna Defeo said.

The bus driver is now off the job pending an investigation.

New Jersey Transit released a statement that the issue is under investigation, so they cannot comment on specific details.

"We don't condone any form of assault aboard any of our vehicles or within our facilities. We can confirm that our driver was assaulted prior to the altercation. We want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that assaulting a transit employee is a serious offense and can result in a fine, jail time and/or a ban from riding the transit system."

A sweat stain on the couch is visible at close examination. :marseyxd:

A winning miniature set in the Kentucky State Fair entitled "The Casting Couch" was removed from display for being inappropriate — after officials realized it depicted an infamous adult film set.

Preston Poling's set, which nabbed a third-place prize, was minimally constructed and consisted of white walls, a door, a window with blinds, a gray carpet, a black leather couch, a battered office chair and a computer monitor connected to a camera.

Closer examination shows that the computer screen has a replica of the couch on the screen — and has a red circle in the upper-right-hand corner, indicative of a record button.

"The whole thing is basically just an inside joke," Poling told The Post Friday. "I wanted to enter it into the fair to see if people could catch on to the concept.

"Either you get the joke or you don't."

Poling, 42, said he deliberately avoided putting his magnetic title placard on the set when he entered it. Instead, he waited to see if people would connect the tawdry dots.

The design was awarded third place in the "I Did it My Way" category, a more open-ended entry option, Poling said.

"I submitted a piece that was kitschy," he insisted. "It's just tongue-in-cheek."

The self-taught builder said he wasn't trying to be inappropriate or offensive, but wanted people to have fun with his display, adding that some miniature exhibits can be a bit repetitive and could run the risk of turning into a "snooze-fest."

Poling added that "the guys" who may have been dragged to look at the miniature displays "got to enjoy a build that was meant specifically for them, in an area they might not otherwise be entertained."

He said he put a lot of effort into making the build look cheap and rough-hewed, using pastels, lacquer and sandpaper to make the furniture look somewhat worn.

Photos of the naughty display even show a sweat stain on the couch, to imply that it was indeed used.

The drama unfolded when Poling was alerted by friends that his design had vanished. He posted a "missing" alert on his Instagram page, "the_bearded_miniaturist," and when he went down to the fairgrounds, he saw that his set was indeed absent.

The Kentucky State Police were called after it was initially thought his popular set was stolen, only to learn in the melee that it had been removed, Poling said.

The miniaturist was told the build was removed because it was deemed inappropriate but said the state fair has allowed him to keep his winning ribbons and the other miniatures on display at the fair.

Poling had also won best in show for his miniature scene from AMC's "The Walking Dead" and a craftsmanship award for his miniature based on the classic book "Goodnight Moon."

The artist, who owns a residential painting company in Louisville, said he only picked up the design hobby in 2020 out of boredom from the pandemic, re-creating the iconic living room from "Frasier." That set won first place in the dollhouse category at that year's fair.

"Entries submitted to the fair are routinely reviewed throughout the event and the entry in question has been removed from display at this time," the Kentucky State Fair said in a statement Friday night when asked about the set snafu.

This isn't Poling's first racy run-in with fair officials.

A piece he described as a "creepy s*x dungeon" was removed before judging last year.

China's unemployment rate is bad right now. China won't be able too keep up productivity much longer.

1. China job market is in crisis. It's as high as 21 percent and growing.

2. New term just dropped "Rotten-tail kids". ( Meaning unfinished project, derived from rotten-tail buildings which referred too unfinished building projects. )

3. Many college students are ending up having too settle for jobs far below their skill level.

4. Some graduates are living as full time children as a means of survival.

5. Higher education is no longer offering higher mobility, putting stress on the social contract in China.

6. Even those with a masters degree are finding jobs that don't pay well.

Conclusion:

China would never hesitate too replace their populace with robots. Asians are terrible at feeling empathy for their unemployed or struggling members of society. We can expect this crisis too spiral out of control with 20% too 30% of the populace being replaced with robots and unemployed at all times, along with the population shrinking too much too be able too keep all the robots working. i.e. a society where human innovation and function capacity has peaked at a national level in terms of total output and the output can only fall from here on out.

Expect the entirely of East Asia too destabilize worse than the middle east soon.

@timmy_blueballs stand with Israel.
