As someone who has done every drug too many times, psychedelics like LSD are really safe, the whole "you'll go crazy" thing is mostly scare-tactic BS IMO. Mostly already crazy people being crazy. LSD was one of the most fun and peaceful things I ever had in drug form
the main problem is a) most of the other popular psychedelics like mushrooms and DMT can easily give you bad trips even in safe spaces...while LSD is a warm friendly experience near every time...but they get lumped together as one class of drug and b) many times on the street things sold as "LSD" is actually much scarier fake designer psychedelic drugs like 2C

Nitrous is only bad for you if you take so much over such a long period you manage to deplete your B12 which you have to be r-slurred to do.
