We make more food than we need by a metric ton on purpose so that if there is a partial unforeseen crop failure we will have enough food. The day that shortage happens then wasting food will be bad. You just have a value system that isn't suited to our current reality.

Not just food either, I've dragged in a full recliner that I found, working condition and not dirty, just leans a bit too far back if you aren't expecting it, cleaned it and used fabric softener just incase.
I even found a full butt table in perfect condition and a working A.C that my neighbor threw out because he was getting evicted and had to dump all his shit.
Man now I'm remembering the full box of books I got too.
All this stuff wasn't even in the dumpster, just put beside it. Darn it feels good to be cheapskate

yeah, he got evicted because his roommate almost lit the entire place on fire because he was smoking weed with a heater against his blanket, he got evicted too since he smoked the stuff as well. He was a cool guy. part of the military back in the 60's assigned to the The Berliner and he loved talking about motorcycles
