Zoomers are fun because whenever they feel bad they just lie and strawman and deflect from any sort of personal responsibility until their daily panic attack ends

That "traditional" path still works for the vast majority of people. Sorry you flunked out or picked something r-slurred to study but thats not a new thing

Idk, maybe it because I'm a tradie. But all the zoomers I know have taken to larping as a 60 year old man in 1983

It does'nt work for neurodivergent people because they interview poorly and are weirdos. Unfortunately, rather than going the sane direction of getting someone to help them get a job, the current solution is to drive them insane, convince them they're a woman, and get them to chop off their peepee.

The best thing I learned about college was that the connections you make matter more than the degree and its completely true.

>be me

>grad program

>pretty average grades (3.0 gpa) but met a ton of people and hung out often

>friend gets a gig

>literally gets me my job for me

>20 min interview is literally just a breakdown of what the employment contract is, what duties Im gonna have, what perks look like, guaranteed employment before I even interviewed

>earn near 6 figures without breaking a sweat

>meet neighbors in new apt

>befriend the ones who've lived in my new state the longest and have connections

>they introduce me to people in my field

>am too chad to give a frick about how I come off, join their plans as my apt friend bails

>have a solid night

>grp is shocked to find out I know none of them since we all got along so well

>continued to meet up with them often despite this since I got along well with them

>am now being recommended by one of them for a job where I will be earning $120k/yr if accepted

I find out next week if I got the job, connections pay greater dividends than hard work as long as you're competent.

>literally invite yourself to events if your new friends are meeting other friends for shit and continue to expand your social circle

>repeat until you have a wide range of people you know

>even loose connections can be relit if you just send out invites out of the blue

That simple lad.

but what if im autism?

>use internet to figure out shit like how to keep conversations going, how to avoid being awkward

>realize most awkward statements you make are shit people forget about within minutes and you're the only one obsessing over them

>actively listen

>practice until you git gud at socializing

>begin doing the shit i mentioned above to generate social circle

There are some things GenZ isn't entirely wrong to complain about (the country being run by senile geriatrics, pushing everyone to go to college to just effectively value a degree, housing, our economic policy that consists of whatever pumps boomer's 401ks, etc) but good fricking god are they whiny. I thought Millennials were whiny (and they are) but they just made long seetheposts on Reddit or Tumblr. Zoomers will make a video captioned: "POV: you're an AuDHD queer living in a capitalist nightmare but bestie just spilled some tea" while staring lifelessly into a camera and dancing.

Yeah I hate whiny millennials who say shit like "we've had it harder than other generations" when they haven't had a draft unlike the past generations who had to fight in wars. Or b-word about house prices while refusing to admit they're not valuable/smart enough to afford a two br condo in the hustle and bussle.

But the whole "we were told by our elders we'd have to get a college degree only to have those same people change their tune and say college is a rip off" is true

They mean economically, and they're pretty correct about that.

>be boomer

>firm handshake and get a job

>college tuition can be paid with summer jobs

>housing is expensive but not completely out of reach

>unions are actually decent and will secure you pensions when you retire

>not competing against the entire third world and hordes of H1Bs in entire high skill sectors

versus

>be millennial

>3 years experience required for entry level work

>no handshake, just an AI filter for resumes

>competing so hard against H1B thirdies that 75% of silicon valley was foreigners back in 2019

>housing is unbelievably high

>rent is unbelievably higher

>cant qualify for a home loan in most parts of the country because you need near double the average household income to qualify

Its bad

they cant admit they're not valuable enough to afford a 2br condo downtown

I'm bordering triple digits and am being considered now for a $120k/yr gig and I still would be pretty fricked buying a condo due to loan payments (because they're as expensive as a starter home 30 mins away). I don't whine because I'm going to be able to get a home in a few years with that salary, especially if a get a gf and get married, but most couples earn less than I currently make alone and will never be able to make it. The reason zoomers and millenials want WFH and vacations is literally because they know they can never get a home, so they don't strive for more and instead pick comfort.

Yeah this is that whiny attitude I'm talking about. You didnt have 10 percentage mortgage intrest rates and barriers to entry in investing. Not to mention we never had a war that millennials were drafted in.

you didnt have a 10% interest rate

A 200% interest rate on a 1 dollar loan is preferable to a 10% interest rate on a 100 dollar loan. The interest wasnt a real issue given pricing because in the 80s (which was 13% btw):

>22k avg household income

>47k avg home price

>mortgage cost of $485 after a 20% down and 13% interest

>mortgage consituted 26% of your monthly income

>zoomers today are approaching 35-50% of income spent on rent alone, nowhere near as high back in the 80s so saving for a home also way fricking easier

I'll take your interest any day if it means I also get your prices. I could literally own multiple vacation homes if I had access to those housing prices from back in the day.

barriers to entry on investing

80s saw the release of the 401k, social security is gonna pay, and pensions existed. You were fine.

Not true.

Houses were also smaller and the price was driven down by people understanding that they couldnt afford a 4br in the hustle and bussle so they moved to the burbs.

I'm a millennial i just actually understand how dumb my generation is for bitching about housing but refusing to sacrifise anything for cheaper housing.

Looooool this is what millennials were complaining about a decade ago. Sorry you studied Ethiopian basket weaving and interpretive dance at a liberal arts college and now have 200k in debt and can't find a job. Not my problem you picked a dead-end degree for a career based on ✨vibes✨

Zoomers all picked r-slurred degrees and those that chose STEM degrees are insufferable personality wise and have to be handheld at work.

I feel sorry for them because they were all raised to be r-slurred by millennials.
