Massachusetts doesn't have enough houses for real people with jobs. There are entire towns in the western part of the state where there is literally nothing available. I knew multiple people with fulltime jobs who were living in
"Accessory Dwelling Units""in-law apartments"converted sheds and repurposed storage spaces above their parents' garage.Jump in the discussion.

I've often wondered why new cities arent developed more often
Just take over a town with some existing infrastructure or farm fields and avoid all the lefties and NIMBYs.

On top of new development being idiotically expensive to begin with, Massachusetts has a super fun town-level designation called Local Historic Districts which declares that your rotting, fent-addled little mill village is actually a special piece of American history that shan't be altered with any of your newfangled modern trimmings, all prospective developers must burn a pile of money on an architecture firm to ensure that Ye Olde Local Character is respected and the town can still choose to vote it down for any reason
By the way, these restrictions apply to private homes as well! Want to build an attached garage, paint your house a color other than white, or demolish the collapsing century-old barn on your property? Frick you!
The best part? All it takes is a 2/3 vote at a single town meeting to declare a Local Historic District. 5 oldfrick local landowners can unilaterally choose to r-slur any and all new development in perpetuity. This is the
statecommonwealth that libcucks hold up as some bastion of democracy.Jump in the discussion.
