They are, but I think most of them drank the koolaid that Hamas—and by association, most Palestinians—are this heckin wholesome bunch of freedom fighters trying to live in their Ottoman-conquest-given territory a few hundred years ago before the Brits conquested it from them ancestral homeland in peace and diversity and science for all.
The reality of the situation is being forcibly shown to them now. I doubt awareness will last very long, but for now it's there.

Oh Israel sucks butt, that's no joke. They have a couple of factors going for them:
The military of Israel is ultimately answers to the government and the state, unlike how the Palestinian troops are beholden to the Hamas Party and not to the Parliament of Palestine.
Even if the leadership of Israel are psychos, they have the veneer of being a functional state in control of its own military.

Okay, snally. If Israel didn't control the Palestoids' borders, they'd be importing much more weapons and building materials for the next Intifada. Both sides claim ownership over the same land, and a two-state solution has been presented many times and basically rejected by both, so there's no reasonable way of excusing "how they live" as a justificiation for violence. The violence fundamentally rests upon a property rights dispute that cannot be resolved other than through violence. Even if the Palestinians' income per capita matched Israel's or was 2x higher, the violence would continue. It is the way of the state to monopolize the function of government over a region.
The happenings of yesterday might be a hint as to why they need to be in an 'open air prison', and why going forward, that prison needs to be hard enough to escape that they'll not even dream of freedom anymore.
