If I want to watch a movie I'll pick one and watch it privately, if I want to talk to people we can do it over drinks or smokes.
The entire concept just seems weird. You engaging in an asocial, if not anti-social activity with other people? Why? The closest thing I've had to a good time watching movies with other people is when they're quite enough and I'm drunk enough that I forget they exist at all. Same reason I don't go to theatres
Not to mention sitting next to people. jfc if we're not lovers I do not want to be sat near enough to you to notice you for 90+ minutes. By minute 20 I want to crawl out of my own skin.
Is this autism? Zoomerism? Some sort of anti-social personality disorder? I don't know but I do know you're weird for not sharing the belief with me.

Yes, yes, yes. Get yourself tested, and share your status to protect others.

I have taken multiple tests on recognizing emotion and face blindness and passed them all! I just don't like being in a room with other people very much.
And yes I realize taking autism tests to prove you're not neurodivergent is a super neurodivergent thing to do

I watched Oppenheimer by myself and found it lovely
Comedies are different, watch those with people so you can repeat the lines in the parking lot together

Comedy and horror work better with an audience. With friends is good, but just a room full of people really helps.
Watching films with friends is great, if you've got friends who don't talk through the whole thing, which I have. Other than not being able to sit through a film without going to the bathroom, others in the audience (at least around here) are well-behaved enough to just make it better, or at least not worse.
But then, not to brag, I can sit next to someone for over 15 minutes and not want to kill myself once. Flights must be a nightmare for @iStillMissEd.

It's cool if he's thrusting into your fist or if you're using your wrist to move a guy's hand onto your peepee, but a lot of dudes these days want to grope your peepee like they're giving you a handjob, there are probably gay guys trying to blend in

The main reason to do it is so you can talk about it later. This of course assumes the movie is actually interesting.
The only people I know IRL who think going to the movies by yourself is weird are women. I guess it's from some sort of social pressure?

My dad often accidentally spoiled movies when I watched them with him, so I just stopped watching movies in general. In hindsight that's pretty dramapilled behavior though.

I torrent movies and go to my friends house to watch them because he has a bigass tv.
I bring movie and he'll get food and we hang out and watch it.
I don't see how this is weird at all. It's actually pretty fun.
And yeah we go to the theaters together too.
For theaters it's not super social and I guess you could just do it alone, but I'm not really the kind of person who would think to just go to a theater by myself.
So yeah. This doesn't sound like a problem with movies really. This just sounds like you don't like being around other people.

It's two different things imo
If I actually want to watch a movie, I do it alone
When you watch with friends it's more like hanging out and obvs you shouldnt be watching actual kino but just some bullshit

You do it at your place and you pause the whole time to make neurodivergent jokes, and anyone who sticks around will like you more from sunk cost fallacy.

I agree that it's not a terribly social activity and I generally wouldn't do it for a date (although it seems popular for this purpose) because I'd rather talk to the person in that case, but it can still be fun to experience something with someone else. Especially if they're there in person, watching movies over groomercord or whatever just isn't as good.

Hello Dahncer_the_reindeer, or should I say r*pedeer? 8 letters, fitting huh. If this life were perfect you'd have known nothing but milk and cookies since you left your birthers c*nt. However, it's not- that's where I come in.
You have no say anymore, no freedom, no volition- I am Santa. You now worship my Christmas tree. You can call me Nicholas. A saint? No, but I come with more conviction.
Dahncer_the_reindeer you are my r*pe sleigh-ve now. And that's your greatest achievement- all you've ever amounted to, tugging and pulling my sleigh as we break the space time continuum together you complete fricking slut. I'll find you.
