Going to see the Vatican and all the museums I can! Any recommendations for restaurants or special venues? Apparently the Siege at La Rochelle is being held in the National Gallery in Rome and I really want to see it

Rome is the most beautiful city in the world, imo. Some personal recommendations:
The Pantheon, the most beautiful building I've ever seen in my life. I remember sitting in the piazza before it and just staring at its majesty.
Largo di Torre Argentina is an excavation of Roman temples and Pompey's Theatre. It is the location were Julius Caesar was assasinated. Allow me to repeat: you can visit the place that Julius Caesar was assasinated. It is also home to a tribe of stray kitties.
Terme di Caracalla is the ruins of a Roman bathhouse. It is truly enormous, with beatiful surviving frescos and other artifacts.
San Nicola in Carcere is an old church. For a small fee, you can descend into the crypt to see the ruins of the ancient Roman temples the church was built upon.
Roman Forum. This goes without saying. You have to see the centre of society and government of ancient Rome.

I've booked the capitoline hill museum where the bronze statue of Romulus and Remus is kept. Noted the rest.
