Rome is the most beautiful city in the world, imo. Some personal recommendations:

  • The Pantheon, the most beautiful building I've ever seen in my life. I remember sitting in the piazza before it and just staring at its majesty.

  • Largo di Torre Argentina is an excavation of Roman temples and Pompey's Theatre. It is the location were Julius Caesar was assasinated. Allow me to repeat: you can visit the place that Julius Caesar was assasinated. It is also home to a tribe of stray kitties.

  • Terme di Caracalla is the ruins of a Roman bathhouse. It is truly enormous, with beatiful surviving frescos and other artifacts.

  • San Nicola in Carcere is an old church. For a small fee, you can descend into the crypt to see the ruins of the ancient Roman temples the church was built upon.

  • Roman Forum. This goes without saying. You have to see the centre of society and government of ancient Rome.

:marseynotes: I've booked the capitoline hill museum where the bronze statue of Romulus and Remus is kept. Noted the rest.
