Should I move to the Big Apple?

I have spent the summer in NYC with my sister & her family. At first I was like "Eww" but now I'm warming up to the idea of moving here.

The Pros: My depression gets so much better when I'm around family. It's a "fresh start" after a really hard year. I can help my sister out with her baby. It's a lot of stress and I want to support her as much as I can.

It will also get me closer to fulfilling my lifelong dream of being a fancy old lady

The cons are that it's a very expensive lifestyle. I will just barely be able to live comfortably in Manhattan. Lots of places do not accept dogs for some reason (?) Lots of Libs (so same as Chicago) and apparently men punch women on the subways.

Should FroCho bite the bullet and move:

should I move to Alaska?

I will be spending a week there next month and at first I was like "frick yeah" but I have no idea what my actual experience will be yet (I will not be warming up ever)

The pros: I've never lived away from family so moving 4000 miles to the other end of the continent seems like a reasonable thing to do with no perceived impact on mental health

The cons are that it's a somewhat more expensive lifestyle. I will just barely be able to live in a shack with no running water. lots of places do not accept cars for some reason (?), lots of chuds (so same as Texas) and apparently men hunt large game and shoot the pipeline sometimes.
