This place and /r/Drama gave me some fun laughs over the years. Thanks for that I suppose. I should've been a smarter person.

We have debt but we will come into some money in the next few months that'll pay off that debt.
That's not the issue. It's dawning on me that the small business we did has no future and I have no skills otherwise. Getting back into IT at my age as a fresher is apparently really, really slim. I'm not seeing an escape from my predicament. I think I've failed my family.

I turned 30 this year. I'm eligible for some but I'm not sure if spending years on that is a wise choice.

Its different in India, even having one gap year in your CV is frowned upon and after 30 most entry level jobs won't even consider you.

Respect and thinking you're a good wagie are separate things. There's so many expendable young wagies its difficult to get a foot in the door if there's any obvious demerit you have.

This isn't the west neighbour. To give you a hint, it's so hard for people with career gaps at that age to enter IT/software that we have scammy "institutes" that give fake experience certificates(which they pay good money for) for you to enter the field. I'm not saying it's impossible but it is insanely difficult.

Can you just use an American company for your certification then? You seem good with English.

Nah, it doesn't work that way. American corps are much better at sniffing out fakes. Either way, I just wanted to tell you that I'll be joining a bootcamp for the next few months. Wish me luck.

buddy I had a gap of 5 years of doing nothing, you have a business to show of. and as for age I rejoined IT at 31 with a gap of 5years, my previous exp was dog shit, I forgot most of it by then and joined some local slave shop for 25k per month. dont give up so easily, those 5 years were torture, being a social outcast among the family, as the guy with no job in his 30s etc no self confidence nothing. imagine how many times I contemplated somehow I didn't, and it slowly worked out for me. no one can save you except yourself. try to take help from relatives or someone else, get some references for low level IT jobs like Jr dev, and learn on the job. don't give up, take a break from everything, like 2-3months just neetmaxx cut all contact with outside world

remember life wont turn around in an instant, it took me 7 years to get to where I am now. It took 5 years just to get a decent position at a decent company.
I still remember the day I went to meet my mom when doing the 25k Job and I was sneeding about getting only 25k and how shamefur it was for me and I might quit, my mom gave a look that I will never forget, she didn't even say anything and I can't even describe the look but its engraved in my brain forever and I didn't quit that job. My only aim from then on was not to go back to the previous stages no matter what.

I will keep this in mind my friend. I'm joining some online courses. I will grind for the next 5 to 6 months and see where it takes me. Wish me luck. I'm going to need a lot of it.

Prep for references before doing all of that. You need a foot in the door before you want to committing as there are gazillions of people who do courses.
I would really suggest doing either full blown neetmaxxing as unkil says or doing literally any job, even an internship or delivery work. Not for money but to get away from friends and relatives. I went through this heck for more than a year, nagging acquaintances are the worst part of it as you would feel constant shame in front of them. The most important thing you can do is to get away from your social circle and chill for a while

Wew, Can't believe I did this for much longer . I sold my bike. Moving to Bangalore where they're offering a course+guaranteed internship at the end recommended by a friend. My father says he'll be a able to fork over some money for my remaining time there by the early weeks of september. I'll look for some part time jobs as well.
