Context: I adopted him as a kitten around ten years ago. I moved from the U.S. to the UK and my ex lives in my old apartment. I messaged my ex last night to ask for him to be returned to me and he isn't cooperating. I need him to cooperate to get my cat over here. Can't ask reddit cos I'm ip banned. Wtf do I do?

If he doesn't want to cooperate your best chance is finding a lawyer in the US to sue your ex for custody of the cat (not as absurd as it sounds)
That said, you moved to the UK 6 months ago? An year? You are gonna have a bad time convincing a judge you care about the cat seeing as you left it behind
